Website Progress Log

4 May 2009: We added 2 Photoshop tutorials contributed by guest writers. One is on creating transparent backgrounds, by Peter A. Jones; the other is on grain and digital noise, by Duncan Wherrett (sometimes you need to add noise to make an image look right!)

27 April 2009: The Bookstore page has been restored, with improvements, through the letter G.

13 April 2009: Definitions for the letter J are complete.

7 April 2009: Definitions for the letter I are complete; also created the News & Exibits page.

6 April 2009: We’ve restored sections A and B on the Bookstore page.  Meanwhile, we are continuously reviewing photography books to search for more recommendations.

24 March 2009:  There was a glitch with the Bookstore page, and entries for A – L are gone!  You can still shop for all books, it’s just our notes and recommendations that were lost.  We’re putting it back together as time permits.

16 March 2009:  Added more photography book reviews; finished letter H definitions.

6 March 2009: Created a biography on Diane Arbus.  If you haven’t seen Arbus’ work, see it at Diane-Arbus-Photography.com.

3 March 2009: Added a biography on Annie Leibovitz, celebrity portrait photographer.

27 Feb. 2009: Created a biography of the great Mexican photographer Manuel Álvarez Bravo.  Starting on Annie Leibovitz.

20 Feb. 2009:  Finished definitions through the letter G.

18 Feb. 2009:  Added some book recommendations for Ansel Adams and Diane Arbus books.

7 Feb. 2009:  Added Bookstore and Printshop tabs, both are functional, but they’ll be expanded at some point.

3 Feb. 2009:  Finished with definitions for letter F; beginning work on letter G.

30 Jan. 2009: The Diane Arbus bio is still in progress.  Meanwhile, new photography definitions are being added every day or two.

24 Jan. 2009:  Added entries on Pictorialism and Group f/64.  If you don’t know what the difference is, find those terms on our Art and Artists page!

13 Jan. 2009:  Added a brief tutorial on eliminating red eye in your photographs.

5 Jan. 2009:  Researching a bio for Diane Arbus, one of the most popular American photographers.  She’s most noted for her strange and sometimes disturbing photos of freaks and outcasts.  Also, it’s pronounced “Dee-an.”

22 Nov. 2008:  This photography website is still in progress, but I decided to go online with it, as is.  I’m still adding content, a little bit each week, so check back periodically for updates.
